Joan P. MacDonald
It was with great sadness that the Friends of the Ruins learned of the death of their treasurer, Joan P. MacDonald on December 30, 2009.
Although Joan had not been able to attend the last few meetings her determination and dedication to the Ruins kept her involved with us from home ...including helping to organize the annual Tartan Golf Tournament and recruiting her daughter Dawn to replace her at the registration table.
Joan's optimism that all goals would be met was fulfilled when the stabilization of the walls of the church was completed.
Her loyalty and dedication as secretary - treasurer to her work was unswerving- serving as a founding member till her recent death.
We salute Joan as a role model for anyone who faces a challenge - belief and hard work will overcome obstacles and , as Joan often did for the committee, celebrate the small achievements as they lead to the ultimate one.
